The Orange Lined Sleeper Goby (Valenciennea decussates) is a tropical goby species that is also commonly referred to as the ‘Pink-lined Sleeper Goby’ and the ‘Orange Striped Goby’. It is a member of the ‘Gobies’ family Gobiidae. Distribution: Western Pacific region. Features: This species can be recognised by the two orange stripe that’s that run from the head fading towards the tail. One stripe passes through the eye. There is a small orange spot inside a white blotch on the caudal peduncle. This species feeds by shifting mouthfuls of sand to capture small invertebrates and organic matter. Habitat: This species can be found occurring on muddy and sandy bottoms within the vicinity of coral reefs Depth range: 3 – 20 metres Maximum Length: 10cm
