Brown Tang(Zebrasoma scopus)
Brown Tang


The Brown Tang (Zebrasoma scopus) is a tropical fish species that is a member of the ‘Surgeonfishes and Tangs’ family Acanthuridae.

Distribution: Indo-Pacific region.

Features: Dark yellowish brown in colour with tiny blue spots on head and body with fine lines running horizontally along the body. There is a white spine in the middle of the caudal peduncle.

Habitat: Shallow reefs in protected waters, coral reefs.

Depth range: 2 – 15 metres.

Maximum Length: Approximately 20cm.
