The Ocellate Seastar (Nectria ocellate) is a temperate seastar species that is distributed around the waters of southern Australia. It is found from the central coast of Western Australia around the south to the Solitary Islands Marine Park in northern New South Wales. It is also found in the waters around Tasmania. It can be found in varying depths of water ranging from 1 metre down to depths of 200+ metres. The Ocellate Seastar can be found on rocky reefs and in seagrass meadows. It is known to feed on sponges, algae, bryozoans, encrusting ascidians and detritus. The Ocellate Seastar (Nectria ocellate) is known to have a maximum arm radius of 13 cm.
