The Kapala Stingaree (Urolophus sp. A) is a stingaree species that is yet to be described and belongs to the Urolophidae family. This species was first recorded in the NSW Fisheries trawl surveys aboard the Kapala vessel; hence the species common name. This species has only been recorded off the east coast of New South Wales in Australia from Yamba in northern NSW to Jervis Bay in the south. The dorsal surface of this species is usually a greenish colour with a pinkish outer disc, there are dark blotches around the eye and sometimes of the middle of the disc and it has a small dorsal fin. This species looks similar in appearance to the sparsely Spotted Stingaree Urolophus paucimaculatus however the Kapala Stingaree lacks the white spots on the dorsal surface.
The Kapala Stingaree (Urolophus sp. A) grows to a maximum length of approximately 45 cm.
