The Spangled Emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus) is a very popular fish species with fishers as it is good eating. It is a tropical species that belongs to the fish family Lethrinidae and it can be found through the waters of the Indo-Pacific region including east Africa, Red Sea, Indonesia, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Australia. This species can be found on sandy bottoms near coral reefs and it often forms small schools. Its body is blue/silver in colour and the upper half of the body has pale blue spots and there are blue lines radiating from the mouth up to the eyes. The Spangled Emperor (Lethrinus nebulosus) grows to approximately 86cm in length.
