The Eastern Smooth Boxfish (Anoplocapros inermi) belongs to the temperate boxfishes family Aracanidae. It can be found along the east coast of Australia from Queensland to the Bass Strait and is generally found on coastal rocky reefs or sponge gardens. It is generally found in depths greater than 10 metres however juveniles have been observed swimming around the pylons of jetties in water less than 3 metres deep.
Juveniles are yellow with small brown spots and the spots become paler as they grow. Yellow Large adult males are blue in colour with golden sides. It grows to a total size of 35cm.
