The Daphne's Chromodoris (Chromodoris daphne) nudibranch belongs to the Chromodorididae family. It has a limited distribution from southern Queensland to central NSW around Sydney. It can be fairly common around divesites at certain times of year (generally summer/early autumn) in central NSW at sites located within Sydney Harbour and Port Stephens. It appears to settle in areas that have good tidal flow – this would be associated with the food species (sponges) that are found in the area. It is very similar in appearance to Chromodoris splendida however it can be recognised by the thin red line that runs around its mantle and it generally has smaller red dots on its white body. The Daphne's Chromodoris (Chromodoris daphne) grows to a maximum length of approximately 6cm.
