The Abbotts Moray (Gymnothorax eurostus) can be found throughout the indo pacific and is found living in amongst the tropical coral reefs. The species inhabitats ledges and caves where it can hide from predators and strike at any prey as they pass its hole. In Australia it is found in the northern warmer waters from Northern NSW (Solitary Islands) around the north to the central coast of Western Australia. This moray eel is generally a brown/yellowish colour on the body with black spots all over. The tail of this species has a white edge. This species is known to grow to a maximum size of approximately 50cm.
