The Bullock’s Hypselodoris (Hypselodoris bullocki) nudibranch is a brightly coloured nudibranch that belongs to the Chromodoridae family. It is distributed through out the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific Ocean and in Australia it is found along the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, northern NSW and northern Western Australia. The body colour of this species is pale lilac or pink and it has a very thin white marginal band. The rhinophores and are uniformly pale yellow, pink or a orange-red colour. This species in found on coral reefs and is known to feed on the siliceous sponge Dysidea sp (family: Dysideidae.
This species was previously known as Chromodoris bullocki until extensive taxonomy scientific research determined that it belonged in the genus Hypselodoris. The Bullock’s Hypselodoris (Hypselodoris bullocki) grows to a maximum length of approximately 5 cm.
